Saint-Idunet Church
Why take advantage?
This neo-Gothic church (completely rebuilt between 1868 and 1869) replaced a simple parish house.
Idunet was a disciple of Saint Guénolé. He lived as a hermit in a cave on the Nin mountain in Châteaulin.
A Baroque altarpiece, a Pietà and a painting of the Virgin Mary by Marc di Napoli adorn the interior.
The former priory, which belonged to the Benedictine abbey of Landévennec, fell into disuse in the 18th century, with only three monks, and was transformed into a presbytery. The only vestige of this house is a sculpture in a nearby wall. Dating from 1589, it depicts a lion holding a coat of arms. [ After Anne Dietrich ]
