Stele of Sainte-Barbe
Why take advantage?
This spindle dating from the 5th century B.C. features notches and cupules (small hemispherical depressions, usually less than 10 cm in diameter, carved by men) in several places, like many stelae from this period. The purpose of these marks is unknown; it is likely that they are associated with a funerary cult.
