About us

Immerse yourself in the lush green Porzay countryside with the "Balade de Sainte-Barbe"! This pleasant walk starts at the Kerhant cross in Ploéven, along the road to Cast.

Head south towards Kerhant, then pass through the hamlet of Barvédel. Then cross the road to Pen ar Hoat and follow a shady path to the charming 16th-century chapel of Sainte-Barbe. This beautiful edifice is nestled in a verdant setting and still has a dirt floor. Take a close look at the bell tower, which appears to be slightly leaning. The cross on the calvary is also very fine.

Return to the route de Cast before turning right towards Cosquer. At this crossroads, you'll discover a surprising protohistoric stele, known as the Fuseau or "Quenouille" de Sainte-Barbe. The route continues downhill towards the Kerharo stream. As you pass the Goré en Dreff farm, which is privately owned, be careful to respect the fences. Follow the stream on your left, then turn left to reach marker 65, marked by an old telephone pole. Turn right to reach Coatmeur. At the next intersection, turn left towards Ty Bleïz, and continue straight ahead to return to your starting point, the Kerhant cross.
