How do you get through the locks?

The Guily Glaz lock at Port-Launay allows boats to pass through between 2.5 hours before high tide and 2 hours after high tide, based on Brest tide times.

Passage times vary according to the time of year:

- From early November to late March (outside the boating season): passage is possible from 9am to 7pm, with 48 hours' notice. Please call 02 97 75 12 45.

- From early April to late October (during the boating season): passage is possible from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. with no advance notice required. Further information on the same number: 02 97 75 12 45.

The other locks in Brittany are all operated exclusively by staff from the Brittany Region. During the navigation season, the service is available at all times. Outside this period, please contact the Region 48 hours in advance.

In Port-Launay, the Maison de la plaisance communautaire offers a range of services for yachtsmen: showers, sanitary facilities and a washing machine.
All along the quayside, you'll find terminals for supplying electricity and water to your boat.
The fee is €3.50 per token, offering a choice of 4 hours of electricity or 4 minutes of showering.
Tokens can be purchased at the "Ty Mad" bar in Port-Launay (all year round) or at the Châteaulin tourist office (at Les Halles, from April to mid-September).

boating news Châteaulin: new pontoons

August 2023

New yachting facilities in Châteaulin

New pontoons are available for yachtsmen to call for a maximum of 72 hours. From September 2023 onwards, water and electricity will be supplied by kiosks. They will operate in the same way as at Port-Launay: tokens are available for purchase at the Châteaulin tourist office (Les Halles, from April to mid-September) and at the Ty Mad bar in Port-Launay.

This project, led by the Pleyben-Châteaulin-Porzay community of communes, is supported by the French government (DETR, DSIL) and the European Union (FEADER). Its operation is based on collaboration with the services of the Brittany Region, the town of Châteaulin and the tourist office.
