Saint Maudez chapel in Nac'h Gwen
Why take advantage?
To the south-west of Lennon, not far from the Canal de Nantes à Brest, you'll find the chapel of Saint-Maudez, also known as the chapel of Nac'h Gwen. This chapel must have been the successor to a pagan oratory dating back to Roman times. The current chapel is the result of numerous restorations. It dates from the 16th century, as attested by a Gothic inscription above the south door (l'an 1521, Jean Rivelen, Recteur). The building comprises a nave with a five-bay aisle and a large chapel with sacristy to the south. The polychrome wooden rood beam dates from the 16th century. The stained glass windows, by Nicolas Frédorenko, date from 1998. The chapel houses statues of Saint Maudez, Notre-Dame de Bonne-Nouvelle, Saint Côme and Saint Damien.
