Why take advantage?

With no aisles, exposed beams and a dirt floor, the simplicity of Saint Aubin's chapel (building and furnishings: 17th century) offers a vision of serenity. Saint Aubin - or Saint Albin - was a Breton from Vannes who became a bishop in the 6th century. Patron saint of bakers and confectioners, he is also invoked against childhood illnesses. The placître features a beautiful calvary where Roland Doré, the region's great master sculptor, created a Christ on the Cross around 1651. Other elements of this calvary, the Virgin and St. John (decapitated statues), have taken refuge inside the chapel. St. John's head may be the one placed in a cross on the chevet.
